I hope that this may help, have you checked up on TSRM thats were I got the info for my probs. I had some probs with my PS recently but not to the same extent as you,( but I started to get heavy streering noisey pump Oil overflowing etc) I changed the Oil as it was black, also cleaned out the fine mesh filter that is in the bottom of the res filled her up with nice new Oil and bleed the system on " both locks" I found that bleeding takes some time letting her rest with engine off to allow the bubbles to go then doing it again, and again etc I did keep the oil level low to start with (below the cold low mark) then topped up slowly.

Sorry to but in but these are the bits I did But i dont know whether this would cause the over flow? is there any other parts to the steering system that would cause such failures? I seem to have good pressure from the return pipe, im starting to think its the control valve on the shaft just returning the fluid back. I cleaned the top up out and flushed the system through.

Hi ye the lines seem fine, the position denotes there placement pretty much. there seems to be another valve with wires going to it where the steering wheel joins the rack, could this be a cause if faulty? or to i have to relent and change the rack. fluid is constantly over flowing the top, up once the engine is turned off the top up is almost empty. i did that but same problem though no noise this time just no assistance on the steering. they suggested changing the valve on the back of the steering pump which has two vacume pipes coming from it. they said due to the fact the steering worked fine for a little while and that the rack didnt show any signs of leaking that this was unlikley. Once again i went back to toyota concerned that it might be the rack. The steering begain to work fine then got noisy then went heavy, throwing fluid out of its top up.
